The  Substitute  Dialogue"  Volume #1 September 2009 From The President�s Desk: I want to take this opportunity to welcome back all of Lee Substitute Teachers. I missed many of you at our Aug 20th meeting, and hope those who missed will try to attend future meetings. I want to say thank-you to those of you who joined the Association. One of the things we must do as an association is to show the school district that we our deserving of being called professionals. Please remember the goal is to provide professional development training, networking and pursue employee benefit for all substitutes in the Lee County Schools. As our membership year runs the same as the school year, I remind you that dues are Now Due, This year with your membership you will receive a Lee Sub T-Shirt and a Tote bag. Memberships are $20.00 for the year, checks can be mailed to Ms. Amie Bedford, 4796 Albacore Ln, Ft Myers, Fl 33919.  I would also like to remind you that all OSHA training must be completed prior to October 31st. If you miss the dead line the district will not re-instate you. And you will be removed from the substitute list. The Birmingham Professional Substitute Teachers Alliance has invited all Lee County subs to attend a March 17th and 18th conference, in Alabama. If there is enough interest I will look into chartering a bus. If you have any interest please call President Marvin Goetz at 239 542 1746. There are many links to all sorts of valuable information for subs. We here in Lee are working on a web-site of our own. If anyone, can help please call Larry Trahan at 239 656 6006. We really could use all the help we can get.
