<DIV>August 3,2012, at Estero. I think in the ten years I've been subbing
this is the first one I've missed. My</DIV>

<DIV>absence certainly is not voluntary. I recently, July 11, 2012 had major
foot surgery, 4 hours, and am not</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>permitted to be weight bearing on my right foot for another 6 weeks.
Therefore, since I also can't drive, I</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>can't possibly get there. I'm upset cause I always enjoy this
workshop, and get much out of the different</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>sessions. I hope that there is some way that I can be filled in on
what I am missing.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> I am however, going to make an effort to get to
the workshop for the Website, that evening if I can get</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>someone to drive me and bring me home. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>

some articulate the “label” frustrates me. Sometimes it can be
frustrating, not to have lesson plans, be warned about potential
troublemakers, not to be able to locate resource materials, etc. But you
know what? It’s terrific when we overcome these obstacles, teach,
and feel that we have made a difference.</SPAN><o:p></o:p></P>
<P style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto"
class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 16pt"> </SPAN><o:p></o:p></P>

that <B>we</B> can be frustrating too… each year the officers and board of
directors do their best to ensure that we have “the tools” to do our
best. This core group is the <B>Lee County Association of Professional
Substitute Teachers</B> (<B><A title=http://lcapst.org/
href="http://lcapst.org/">http://lcapst.org</A></B>). A member of The National
Alliance of Substitute Teachers, <B>LCAPST</B>’s mission is to promote dignity
and respect for us, support professional development and training programs; a
fair evaluation and grievance process, and improved wages </SPAN>(I recently
returned from a visit to NH and was appalled to learn that veteran [30+ yr]
teachers receive only $65/ hr to sub in city schools)<SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 16pt">. Our dedicated (unpaid) officers advance these
gains through collective bargaining. They work diligently to ensure that we
are kept abreast of the newest technologies; provide forums for us to learn
what/when/how is expected of us. </SPAN><o:p></o:p></P>
