[Nsta-info] NSTA Conference..

Greetings to my friends and colleagues of the "Substitute Teacher Cause".

 

If LA (or anywhere else) would like to have a substitute teacher conference
and will provide local organizational support NSTA can put it on.

 

After a huge effort and great expense in Atlanta we were left with a
fantastic conference program but very limited participation.

 

Lesson learned! We must have local support or it just doesn't work.

 

Before Atlanta we had good conferences in L.A., Seattle, Las Vegas, Ft.
Myers (Fl) and Wash. D.C. area (Gaithersburg MD.) with local support.  Since
then my colleagues and I on the NSTA board have focused on our own local
organizations.

 

Call and we will come!

NSTA does not meet every year.  Mostly the organization needs more members
to become in any way effective.  I am VP until their next meeting, whenever
it takes place, then new officers will be elected.

Also any chance you would be willing to host a Membership Outreach the
second M after we are out of school?

 

Several said they couldn't go last year since they had long terms and were
cleaning up the room on the first Monday after school is out.  Janis

South 1 Chapter Chair - Come to the Substitute Teacher Committee IMPORTANT
meeting 3-22, Wednesday, at UTLA at Wilshire and Berendo, room 904, sack
lunch dinner provided, after school at 5 but get there when you can, , Be
sure to use the stairless access hall and then left to the elevator. The
stairs are steep and not for disabled.
