Dear Substitute:
The School District of Lee County is required to comply with changes in
legislation.  The 2010 Legislature passed House Bill 7069, which has an
impact on substitute teachers who work for the District.  Our purpose for
sending this communication is to keep you informed and make you aware that
you may or may not be receiving a request from an outside organization to
utilize your substitute services.
Section 411.01 (12), Florida Statutes provides that:
            "Each school district shall make a list of all individuals
currently eligible to act as a substitute teacher within the county pursuant
to the rules adopted by the school district pursuant to s. 1012.35 available
to an early learning coalition serving students within the school district.
Child care facilities, as defined by s.402.302, may employ individuals
listed as substitute instructors for the purpose of offering the school
readiness program, the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program, and all
other legally operating child care programs."
To comply with this mandate, the School District of Lee County will be
providing a list of all active substitute teachers to the Early Learning
Coalition, which serves preschool children within the district.  The
District does not govern pay rate or any other terms of employment with an
outside agency.

the regular teacher.
