[Lee County Substitute Information]

Good morning,
Please be reminded of the upcoming workshop, Microsoft Outlook for Substitutes,  scheduled for 04MAR2016 (5-8pm) at the Lee County Public Education Center - 2855 Colonial Blvd in Fort Myers.  This training includes not only an intro to the school district email, but most importantly training and tips on username, password, D.I.D's, pins, requirements, PeopleSoft, Leave Management System (LMS), SmartBoard, etc.

Dear Substitute Teacher:
Welcome to the Lee County Substitute Teacher Corp. On behalf of the Lee County Association of Professional Substitute Teachers, we applaud your decision to become a Guest Teacher.
We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are an organization of substitute teachers, like you, who enjoy the opportunity to be a replacement teacher when the regular staff members are absent in order to maintain the continuity of education for the young people of Lee County.
The goal of our organization is to promote dignity and respect for substitute teachers who provide educational continuity for our students. We encourage the development and professional training of substitutes, improved wages and conditions. We affirm that substitute teachers can best achieve these gains through collective bargaining. We also affirm that we follow the principles of a fair evaluation/grievance process and the right of the substitutes to receive full, unbiased consideration for employment.
We will facilitate communication among substitute teachers (locally) and substitute teacher associations (nationally). We will gather, study, and distribute information about substitute teachers to the members and to the public. We also encourage this organization to lead the way for Lee County substitute teachers to engage in dialog with all entities that have an effect on the role of substitute teachers.
We, the Board, hope you will join with us in this organization to continue to strive for the esteem, dignity and respect that a substitute teacher is entitled to. Only by joining together can we accomplish these goals. We need you, your ideas, your concerns, and your membership (application attached).
